Lucy Gray
Lucy Gray makes in response to the world around her.
This collection is focused on exploring meditations at the rivers mouth. She has been inspired during walks along the banks of the river leading into the sea-loch near where she lives on the West coast of Scotland.
Gray studied at Chelsea School of Art, foundation level and then achieved a first class degree in Sculpture at Central School of Art, followed by two years of print making with Norman Ackroyd. Gray then studied antique furniture restoration, specialising in gilding and lacquered finishes. It was here that she learnt to combine materials, to trick the eye and became fluent in the use of gold. In 2012 she returned to sculpture.
