Clover Lee
Clover Lee is a London-based ceramic artist whose wheel-thrown porcelain vessels combine classical Chinese cobalt painting with a contemporary minimalist aesthetic. Drawing on her Chinese heritage and a deep engagement with blue-and-white ceramic traditions, her work explores memory, transformation, and the quiet poetry of everyday forms. A self-taught potter with over a decade of dedicated practice, Clover developed her skills through years of structured evening study before establishing her own studio in South Wimbledon, where she now balances making with teaching.
Her work has been exhibited across the UK, including at Ceramic Art London, Made by Hand Cardiff, and The Contemporary Craft Festival in Devon. In 2023, she undertook a residency in Jingdezhen, China—the historic centre of porcelain—deepening her knowledge of large-scale throwing and traditional cobalt brushwork. Clover was also a finalist on the BBC’s Great Pottery Throw Down (2017), which brought her work to a wider audience. She continues to exhibit nationally and recently debuted a new body of work in her solo show, Blue Symphony in Nature, at Delta House Gallery in London, October 2024.
